Travelers can enjoy fun in the sun on these northeast beaches

For many of us, nothing is better than hitting the beach. But while many of us travel south to enjoy time near the water, you can also find family-friendly beaches in the northeast.
New Hampshire actually has five state-run beaches that are ideal for fun in the sun. Hampton Beach State Park is a 50-acre state park located where the Hampton River meets the Atlantic Ocean. The park has the only RV park directly on the coast, making it a great place to camp as well as swim. The park has 28 RV sites, a bathhouse, park store and a playground. The beach has become popular with those who enjoy swimming, fishing and even surfing.
North Hampton State Beach, Jenness State Beach, Wallis Sand State Park and North Beach are smaller beaches that still have a lot to offer. Often less crowded than Hampton Beach State Park, visitors can swim, fish and picnic at these locations.
Further inland, families can also enjoy New Hampshire’s fresh-water beaches. Ellacoya State Park, White Lake State Park, Wellington State Park, Greenfield State Park, Clough State Park, Bear Brook State Park, Wentworth State Park and Forest Lake State Park all provide opportunities for some beach time.
